WHAT IS CARBOXY THERAPY?
Carboxy Therapy is a revolutionary treatment that uses carbon dioxide to reduce the appearance of scars, fade out stretch marks and diminish dark under eye circles. It is also an effective form of treatment for fat reduction, working to encourage the disposal of fat cells. Our bodies naturally produce carbon dioxide, but when injected directly to specific areas, it can encourage an increased flow of oxygen, improving circulation. The increase in oxygen underneath scarred or darkened skin can enhance blood circulation and new cell production, helping to improve the texture and brighten the skin on the treated areas. In addition to restoring skin to a more natural colour, it also works to reduce inflammation, further enhancing results of the treatment. This fantastic, minimally invasive treatment can offer long lasting improvements without the downtime. It is perfectly safe & effective and is only carried out by qualified practitioner. All treatments are tailored to the individual & personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinator to discuss your treatment options.

WHY IS CARBOXY THERAPY DONE?
Carboxy Therapy treatments are specifically designed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks on the body and dark circles under the eyes, but can also be used as a fat reduction treatment. The improvement in circulation and increased collagen production to the treated area works to restore damaged skin. When used for fat reduction, it encourages the disposal of fat cells. This cutting-edge treatment can also be a very important part of the liposuction aftercare programmes, since it can help to enhance the healing process on the treated areas. It is important to note that as with any form of treatment, the concerns that can be addressed with Carboxy Therapy are unique to each patient and something that should be discussed with your Treatment Coordinator.

WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH CARBOXY THERAPY?
If you suffer with dark circles under your eyes that are ageing your appearance or looking to fade out stretch marks and scarring, then Carboxy Therapy could be a suitable solution. This versatile treatment can also be used for fat reduction or as a cellulite reduction solution, targeting specific areas of stubborn fat, encouraging the disposal of unwanted fat cells in order to leave you with a smoother more toned, and beautifully contoured skin.

Carboxy Therapy for dark circles
Carboxy Therapy treatments targeting the delicate under eye area, providing a great non-surgical solution to tackle dark under eye circles. If eye creams and a good night’s sleep aren’t enough to get rid of your dark circles, then Carboxy Therapy could be the treatment you’ve been looking for.

By stimulating the natural production of collagen and increasing the blood flow to the treated area, Carboxy Therapy treatments can help to restore a more natural colour to the skin, diminishing the dark shadows, reviving and brightening the eye area.

IS CARBOXY THERAPY ISAFE?
Carboxy Therapy is a safe, minimally invasive treatment that does not involve any downtime. Our clinic provide a safe and sterile environment, accompanied by a professional, warm and friendly welcome. Carboxy Therapy treatments in our clinic is only ever carried out by a fully qualified technician. Depending on the concern you are looking to treat, our highly experienced Aesthetic Practitioner will discuss all of the suitable options and determine whether Carboxy Therapy is the most suitable solution for your individual needs.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE CARBOXY THERAPHY TREATMENT?
Carboxy Therapy involves a series of small injections with a very fine needle being made to the area of concern. Carbon dioxide is injected under the skin to encourage the flow of oxygen filled red blood cells. These cells disperse their oxygen to the problem area and then absorb the injected carbon dioxide. As part of our normal bodily functions, the cells then carry the carbon dioxide back to the lungs where breathing naturally exhales it from the body. Only a qualified technician can carry out Carboxy Therapy treatments and, depending on the area to be treated, the process can take between 15-45 minutes.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER AFTER CARBOXY TREATMENT ?
Carboxy Therapy does not result in any downtime. You are free to return to work or your normal activities straight after your treatment. You should expect slight swelling on the treated areas as well as redness when treating stretch marks and scars which will soon subside. The treatment does not require an anaesthetic of any kind.

CARBOXY THERAPY FAQS

What is Carboxy Therapy and how does it work?
Carboxy Therapy, also known as Rioblush, is the injection of CO2 in the areas of the body we want to treat. Once the carbon dioxide has been injected, the red blood cells carry oxygen to the area, picking up the carbon dioxide which you then breathe out naturally. Oxygen stays in the area of the fat and produces collagen, helping to dispose of fat cells which are then naturally ridded through your lymphatic system. Scars, stretch marks, dark circles and cellulite are believed to be partly caused by poor blood-flow to the specific body area. By injecting a small amount of carbon dioxide gas into the problematic areas, we are tricking the body into increasing the oxygen flow to the area by compelling the red blood cells to pick up the excess CO2 injected and send it to the lungs for exhalation. In addition, Carboxy Therapy enhances the production of new collagen, enabling the restoration of the skin damage.

Is Carboxy Therapy safe?
There are no known risks associated with Carboxy Therapy. It is an entirely safe treatment due to the fact that CO2 occurs naturally.

How many carboxy treatments will I need?
Your Practitioner will assess the number of treatments you should have, according to your skin condition. Usually a course of 6 treatments is recommended.
